Sparkill, N.Y. – The Bears women's basketball team squared off with St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) on Friday and suffered a 66-43 setback on the road. The non-conference evening showdown at Aquinas Hall moved STAC to 5-5 overall, while Bloomfield fell to 1-8.
Kayla Sykes led the way for the Bears, recording a team-high 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field with all her points coming on three-point shots. Fellow starters, Taneshia Tucker and Daniya Darby each contributed 9 points. Darby and Anisha Able each grabbed 8 rebounds for Bloomfield.
Bloomfield shot 24.6 percent (16-65) from the floor, while STAC shot 38.5 percent (25-65) from the field.
Bloomfield will close out the 2023 calendar year with one more road contest on December 30th when they travel to Post University. The Eagles roll out the CACC welcome mat at The Drubner Center for a 1:00 pm contest.
