BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday with a 105-87 win over the University of Bridgeport. The memorable night opened up with a ceremony honoring
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) and
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) before the Bears (16-10, 12-5 CACC) went on to post their highest-point total for the 2022-23 season. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over the Purple Knights (10-17, 6-12) kept the home team's hopes alive of hosting a conference tournament game in The Den next week.
Bloomfield's senior tandem each had career nights as Battle-Holley recorded the first triple-double of his career with 19 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Morris led all scorers with a career-high 24 points, shooting 9-for-18 from the floor. As a team, the Bears shot a scorching 58.0 percent from the field (40-for-69) and went 18-for-21 from the freethrow line. Izaiah Pool (Newark, NJ) came off the bench to add 18 points while starters
Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) and Wes Robinson (Burlington, NJ) scored 14 and 13 points respectively. Reigning CACC Defensive Player of the Week,
Edward Ngene (Lindenwold, NJ) picked up 4 more blocks to go along with 8 points and 6 boards.
Next up will be the last regular season game as Bloomfield hits the road to face crosstown rival, Caldwell University on Saturday at 4:00 pm. A win against the CACC's overall #1 seeded Cougars would give the Bears the #2 seed in the North Division and a home playoff game next Tuesday at 6:00 pm. Bloomfield will look to avenge a 75-61 loss to Caldwell back on January 17
