WILMINGTON, DEL – Bloomfield traveled to Wilmington University on Saturday and dropped a, 5-1 battle in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. The road game left the Bears with a, 1-5 overall record and 0-4 in league play while the Wildcats improved to 3-2-1 on the season and a perfect, 3-0 in CACC action.
The road team found themselves down 2-0 after the first half of play as Mia Phillip got the start in goal and turned away four shots to start. The home team, who celebrated their Homecoming, added two more goals in the 2nd half before Bloomfield found an answer. Valentina Beltran scored her first goal of the year in the 56th minute off play. Wilmington added one more goal before the end of the game after Arielle O'Neal took over as the keeper.
The Bears return home for their next showdown in CACC play on Tuesday when they host Post University at Foley Field. The October 3rd battle is set for a 7:00 pm start under the bright lights and Bloomfield evening air.
