DOVER, DEL – The Bears women's basketball team squared-off with NCAA Div I, Delaware State University Monday and narrowly dropped a, 76-73 defeat on the road at Memorial Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears opened up the game spotting the Hornets the first 14 points as the visitors found themselves down, 25-10 by the end of the first quarter. Bloomfield cut into their deficit with a 20-16 second quarter as the teams walked off the court for the half.
- The guests drew to within four (48-44) on a Babbs layup in the paint during the third period, however Delaware State answered with a, 9-0 swarm to reclaim a, 57-44 advantage. The Bears finished up the quarter down, 59-49 after two made freethrows by freshman, Tamorie Wilson
- Bloomfield made their final push in the fourth after an Ellis three-pointer closed the gap to, 74-70 with 1:31 remaining on the clock. Moments later, Tucker grabbed an offensive board off her own miss and putback a layup to close the gap to 74-72.
- Able had an opportunity to tie the game with 36 seconds to go but went 1-for-2 at the freethrow line (74-73) and the Hornets held on for the non-conference nail-biting win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Bloomfield never led in the contest and committed 23 turnovers in the contest
- Delaware State had a 44-38 edge on the boards, 13-4 lead in steals and a 32-12 advantage in bench production in the win
