NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 13, 2024) – Bloomfield College sits atop the standings after the fall semester for the 2024-25 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Sportsmanship Award for women's sports, CACC Commissioner
Dan Mara announced today.
During the academic year, a postseason Team Sportsmanship Award is handed out for each of the CACC's 17 championship sports. The year-end overall Sportsmanship Award is determined by the total number of points received in the voting for each individual sport, separated by gender, during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The total is divided by the total number of men's and women's sports in which each school competes, and that average determines the standings.
Bloomfield competed in only one CACC fall championship women's sport, volleyball. But the 20 points the Bears received in the balloting have lifted them to the top of the standings following the fall. Caldwell University, which captured this year's volleyball Team Sportsmanship Award, is second with a 17.00 average over three sports, and Holy Family is third, averaging 10.00 points across three sports.
Holy Family was the winner of the 2023-24 CACC Women's Sportsmanship Award.
