BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears women's basketball team were defeated at home against Caldwell University Saturday afternoon in a, 65-56 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle in The Den.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bloomfield jumped in front early, reeling off the first seven points of the game capped by a layup from Babbs. Moments later a Babbs three-pointer gave the home squad their largest lead of the game (8) at 10-2 with 6:39 on the clock.
- The Cougars clawed their way back with a, 12-2 spurt that finished out the quarter. The 2nd period was a see-saw battle with the teams trading buckets but the Bears sneaked out a, 30-29 advantage at halftime.
- The 3rd quarter saw the guests flex with the first 14 points that put Bloomfield on their heels, down 43-30. The home team took their time and chipped away at the deficit to close within three (45-42) with 2:17 to play in the frame.
- The fourth quarter belonged to Caldwell and their advantage ballooned to 14 points before they secured the conference win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Cougars out-rebounded the Bears, 44-40 but Bloomfield had better bench production at, 19-6
- Caldwell held an advantage in points in the paint (28-16) and points off of turnovers (24-10)
