WILMINGTON, DEL - Playing the top team in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) the Bears softball team dropped a pair of games to Wilmington University on Wednesday. Despite the losses, Bloomfield wrapped up the #4 seed for the upcoming CACC Tournament.
GAME ONE – Bloomfield 0, Wilmington 9 (Five Innings)
The Wildcats were strong in the first inning as they plated three runs to start the game off of Danielle Walters. Walters allowed 8 runs on 6 hits and walked 6 batters before giving way to Jillian Holmes in the third inning. Jocelyn Moody had the Bears lone hit in Game 1.
GAME TWO – Bloomfield 0, Wilmington 10 (Five innings)
The second game was controlled by Wilmington from the start once again as they scored five runs and never looked back. The Wildcats plated 10 runs on 15 hits which included 2 doubles and a homerun. The Bears scattered four hits across the five innings of play.
UP NEXT
Bloomfield will host Felician University for the 2nd straight Saturday afternoon as the Bears have wrapped up the #4 seed in the CACC Tournament. The showdown with the #5 seeded Golden Falcons has been shifted to a 2:30 p.m. first pitch. If the higher seed (Bloomfield) wins game one then game 2 of the CACC doubleheader won't need to be played. The Bears need to win one game to advance to the double-elimination round of the tournament.
