BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College of Montclair State University men's soccer team played their home opener on Saturday and secured a, 0-0 tie with visiting Chestnut Hill College. The first match for the Bears at historic Foley Field was also the opening Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest of the season and left the home team with a 1-1-1 overall record and 0-0-1 in league play. The Griffins are now 0-2-3 overall and 0-1-1 in CACC games.
Matt Brun recorded his first shutout of the year, making three saves in 90 minutes of play. For the game the Bloomfield outshot the Griffins 14-10 overall with each team getting three shots on net. The Bears also had seven corner kicks to Chestnut Hill's five.
The men's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 when they travel to face the University of Bridgeport in another CACC battle. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. on Knights Field.
