BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The women's basketball team fought until the end but came up short Saturday afternoon when Chestnut Hill College visited The Den and left with an, 84-80 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visitors jumped out to a 15-9 lead but moments later an 8-2 spurt from the Bears cut the lead to one 18-17 on an Able layup down low.
- Bloomfield opened the second quarter with an 11-4 run to take a 31-27 lead. A Chestnut Hill three-pointer capped a 7-2 run that put the Griffins back ahead 34-33 with 4:33 left.
- The visitors enjoyed a 42-38 advantage at the break.
- A short jumper at the 6:55 mark of the third gave the Griffins a double-digit lead, 52-42. Tucker netted a three-ball that helped to bring Bloomfield back within six 60-54 with 1:33 left.
- The visitors held a 10-point lead heading into the final quarter but the Bears battled all the way back to within two, 82-80 with just seconds remaining in the game. Chestnut Hill sank two freethrows with seven seconds to go and sealed the conference victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- For the game, the Griffins connected on 42% of their shots from the field (29-69) while the bears shot 42.6% (26-61).
- The Bears shot 32 free throws, making 19 (59.4%) while the Griffins were an efficient 16 of 18 (88.9%).
- CHC also held a 40-34 rebounding advantage and outscored the Bears 17-8 in the second chance points category.

- Bloomfield hits the road for their next two CACC match-ups. First the Bears go on the short van ride to Felician University on Wednesday, January 22 for a 5:30 pm showdown.
- On Saturday, January 25 the women's team heads down to face Wilmington University at 1:00 pm.
