BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears men's basketball team clawed out a hard fought, 94-90 win at home Tuesday evening against Washington Adventist University. The battle in The Den with the Shock (5-4) improved Bloomfield's record to 5-1 on the season.
The home team was led by a double-double from senior,
Zamorian Singleton who registered game-highs of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Singleton was 50.0 percent from the field, netting 10-of-20 shots and added four assists, 3 steals and a block to the Bears efforts.
Freshman,
Cameron McRae set a new career-high with 23 points on 9-for-19 shooting which included 5-of-12 from beyond the 3-point line. McRae nailed a three-pointer with just 11 seconds to go in the game to essentially clinch the victory for Bloomfield.
Newcomers,
Jahi Whitney and
Regan Burke came off the bench to provide a spark as they scored 15 and 13 points respectively. Burke had a thunderous dunk off a dish from Singleton that put the Bears up, 89-88 and helped setup McRae's game winning dagger.
UP NEXT
Bloomfield will hit the road for a long trip to face-off with Bryant and Stratton College of Ohio on Saturday, December 6. The USCAA contest with the Bobcats is scheduled for a 1:00 pm tip-off in Cleveland.
