BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Den was rocking Tuesday night as the fans were treated to another triple-double from junior transfer,
Nia Mallette, to help the Bears women's basketball team glide past visiting Bryant and Stratton College of Albany, 107-56. Mallette's 2
nd-straight triple-double at home was highlighted by a new career-high, 31 points that went along with 13 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals.
Bloomfield (5-2) also saw a new career-high from
Bianca Ellis who netted 24 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field which included 5-of-10 from deep. Senior,
Mia Martinez added to the historic night with a career-high 11 assists to accompany 7 steals and 6 boards.
Kayla Lewis recorded her first career double-double, chipping in 10 points and 11 boards while senior,
Anisha Able notched her fourth consecutive double-double of the year with a season high, 20 points to go alongside 12 rebounds.
The home team forced 31 turnovers from the Bobcats and converted them into 44 points. They out-rebounded the away team, 69-52 and saw a huge, 54-22 advantage on points in the paint.
Mallette captured her fifth-straight 20 plus point performance as the Bears remain undefeated in USCAA Division I play (5-0).
Bloomfield will return to action on Saturday, December 13th when they square off once again with Bryant and Stratton College of Ohio. The Bears defeated the Bobcats, 87-58 on December 6
th. The quick turnaround rematch will be highlighted by Athletic Director,
Sheila Wooten's induction to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Hall of Fame. The tip-off is set for 12:00 pm with the CACC Induction Ceremony scheduled for halftime.
