WILMINGTON, DEL – The Bears baseball team was swept on the road Tuesday by Wilmington University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play in Delaware. The Wildcats roared in Game 1, winning by a score of 28-5 in 7 innings and then added on a 15-1 victory in Game 2.
Bloomfield, who committed 10 errors in the first game, saw their overall record fall to 0-30 with a 0-20 conference mark and Wilmington improved to 24-14 for the season with a 16-6 mark in league games.
Franny Medina went 1-for-2 in Game 1 with 2 RBI and a walk while
Elder Maldonado chipped in a 2-for-4 performance as the visitors put up 5 runs on 6 hits.
In Game 2,
Malachi Jones belted 2 of the Bears 3 hits while
Andres Frias added the third after going 1-for-4 with 2 stolen bases.
NEXT UP
Bloomfield will get set for a four-game Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) series against Post University on Friday and Saturday. All games will be played in Waterbury with April 18
th's & 19
th's doubleheaders set to start at noon both days.
