Connor Blasts A Two-Run Homer But Bears Surrender Two To Caldwell At Clarks Pond

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Hailey Conner belted her first homerun of the season Wednesday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader against Caldwell University but it was not enough as the Bears dropped both games in 5 innings.  

The Cougars improved to 22-21 overall and 11-7 in CACC games while Bloomfield moved to 0-31 for the season and 0-16 in league play.
 
Kate Juskiewicz got the start in the circle at Clarks Pond for Game 1 and pitched her fourth complete game. She gave up ten runs on eleven hits and struck out two batters. The Bears picked up three hits and committed three errors in the opening game. 
 
In Game 2 Conner blasted a two-run shot over the centerfield fence in the bottom of the first and Bloomfield was in business, up 2-0. Caldwell wouldn't answer back until the third inning when they put up three runs to go ahead for good. The visitors would score 7 total runs off of the Bears starter, Rayn Romero and then add three more off reliever, Jillian Holmes.

NEXT UP
Bloomfield goes back to action on Friday, April for some more CACC action. They will travel to Felician University for a 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm doubleheader.
