BLACKWOOD, N.J. – The Bloomfield College softball team displayed an impressive offensive attack on Sunday afternoon, securing a pair of victories over Camden County College. Behind powerful hitting and efficient pitching, the Bears improved their season record to 5-7 with a 13-5 victory in the opener and a 15-5 clinical finish in Game 2.
In the first contest, the Bears established an early lead and never looked back, scoring in every inning.
Jaida Hastings had a strong performance in the circle, tossing a complete seven-inning game while racking up a career-high, 13 strikeouts to stifle the Camden offense. At the plate,
Kate Juskiewicz led the charge with three hits, including a triple and a home run, driving in three runs.
The momentum surged even higher in game two, highlighted by a massive 11-run explosion in the fifth inning that put the game out of reach. The Bears' lineup showed incredible discipline and power, drawing nine walks while pounding out extra-base hits from
Reyna Ozuna,
Edith Luciano,
Hailey Connor, and
Kelly Varela.
Kate Juskiewicz earned her second win of the day, pitching five strong innings to seal the sweep.
The back-to-back wins mark a significant turning point for the Bears as they continue to battle to even out their overall record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Strikeout Masterclass: Hastings dominated the opening game, recording 13 strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
- Fifth Inning Frenzy: The Bears' offense reached a fever pitch in Game 2, erupting for 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure the victory.
- Power Display: Kate Juskiewicz had a career day in the opener, finishing 3-for-5 with both a triple and a home run.
- Extra-Base Attack: Across the doubleheader, the Bears' hitters combined for nine extra-base hits, including four doubles, four triples, and a home run.
- Total Team Effort: Every starter in the lineup reached base at least once during the afternoon, showcasing the depth of the Bloomfield offense.

Bloomfield will return home on Wednesday, March 25
th to face Penn State Hazelton at Clarks Pond South with the first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for 2:00 pm.
