BUFFALO, NY – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team captured a, 96-66 victory in the opening round of the USCAA National Tournament against Atlantis University on Tuesday. Bloomfield advanced to the semifinals and improved their overall record to 21-7 after the win at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bears opened up the game with a, 19-3 run that immediately put the Atlanteans under pressure with a little over six minutes played in the game. The spurt was capped by a jumper by Na'shawn Jones who came off the bench to score Bloomfield's offense flourished in the opening quarter, runnin5 points in 9 minutes of action
- The number 1 seed in the tournament shot 46.7 percent from the field (14-30) while their defense held Atlantis to just 9-oot of-34 field goals (26.5 percent) in the first half.
- The Bears went into the break up, 51-27 led by the USCAA National Player of the Year, Zamorian Singleton with 16 points in the opening half.
- The Atlanteans never led in the contest and were dominated down low as Bloomfield had a, 34-22 advantage on points in the paint.
- Singleton finished the night with a game-high 27 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field and 13-of-15 from the freethrow line.
- USCAA First Team All-American, Cameron McRae netted 16 points and dished out 6 assists.
- USCAA Second Team All-American, Marcus Bucknall had a team-high 10 rebounds and added five points.
- Brandon Hendryx had a perfect day at the office, coming off the bench to go 4-for-4 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the freethrow line for 13 points.
- Jones finished the game with 10 points as did, starter, Devin Artis who shot 50.0 percent from the field (4-for-8).

th. The Stallions advanced to the semifinal round after a, 65-65 victory over Bryant & Stratton College of Buffalo on Tuesday. The National Championship Men's Basketball Semifinal match is set to tip at 5:30 pm at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center.
