Biography
About Young: With the ability to play four different positions, Rob creates matchup problems for opposing defenses every time he steps on the floor. His height poses a tall order for the opposition when he steps out to the perimeter, and his quickness and athleticism can be lethal when he works down low as a forward.
As a junior: Played in 22 games with seven starts in 2010-2011...Averaged 3.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 15.1 minutes per contest...Shot 52% from the floor, while shooting 67% from the free-throw line...Totaled six steals and 10 blocks during his junior season.
As a sophomore: Played in 23 games with three starts. Averaged 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest for the Deacons in 09’-10’, while shooting just over 52% from the floor. Pulled down 42 total rebounds, while dishing out 25 assists.
As a freshman: Played in all 30 games for the Deacons, registering 20 starts. Finished fourth on the team with 6.9 points per game in 08’-09’, while pulling down 4.7 rebounds a game, good for fourth on the squad.
General: When he’s not playing basketball, Rob enjoys listening to music and playing cards.
Why Rob chose Division II: “I chose to attend a Division II school because I felt that I would do very well in a small college environment academically and athletically.”
