About Cabrera: A formidable outside hitter and a force at the net on defense, Karen played two seasons as a member of the Bloomfield College volleyball program, and was a major contributor in each of her two campaigns as a member of the Lady Deacons. 

As a sophomore:  Appeared in 22 matches with 68 sets played...Totaled 29 kills and three assists...Totaled 16 digs and 14 blocks to place her in a tie for fourth on the Lady Deacons...Tallied a season-high five kills in a October 29 victory over non-conference opponent Bowie State University.

As a freshman:  Appeared in 19 matches totaling 60 sets played...Totaled 26 kills on 119 attacks to average .43 kills per set...Registered five assists and eight service aces...Totaled a career high five kills against Felician College on September 23, 2010...Tallied 33 digs on the season, posting six digs on two separate occasions (September 25, 2010 against Chestnut Hill and October 23, 2010 against Molloy College)...Notched five solo blocks and 15 block assists to average .33 blocks per set, placing her third on the 2010 club.

Before Bloomfield: Karen starred as a member of the Science Park High School women's volleyball program before entering the Bloomfield College program as a freshman in 2010. 

Why Karen chose Division II:  "I chose to come to Bloomfield because it is a good school close to my home, where I could play volleyball at a high level."
