Deacons clip Falcons 4-0

Raigoza's six points highlight second straight CACC victory

BLOOMFIELD, NJ:  The men's soccer team rode a pair of goals by Cristian Raigoza to a 4-0 victory over the Felician College Falcons Wednesday afternoon, pushing their conference record to 4-3-1 with the win at Brookdale Park.

Undermanned due to injuries, the Deacons took the field with a few new faces in the starting lineup, but Coach Falloon's club felt no ill effects from the changes.  Bloomfield's offense fired on all cylinders for the second consecutive game, as three different Deacons tallied goals in the contest.

Jeffrey Dapaah was the first to strike for BC, notching his first goal of the season after heading a perfectly-crossed ball to the front of the net by Andres DeCastro, giving the Deacons a 1-0 cushion just 11 minutes into the half.  Raigoza notched his first goal in the 32nd minute, taking a pass from Terry Gibbs and firing it in the back of the net to put the Deacons up two.

The Falcons would remain in striking distance for the next 30 minutes of play, until Mamady Kaba came off the bench to help put the game on ice with his third goal of the season, putting Bloomfield up by a 3-0 margin.  Raigoza supplied the dagger just ten minutes later, capping his banner performance with his second goal of the match off a pass from Dapaah to move the score to 4-0.

The team returns to action on Saturday, October 17 with a road CACC match against Goldey Beacom College.  The opening whistle is set for 3:00 PM.
