Deacons downed by Le Moyne 3-1

SYRACUSE, NY:  The men's soccer team saw their two-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday afternoon as they fell to the #24th-ranked Le Moyne College Dolphins in a 3-1 road defeat.

Josh Mabee opened the scoring for the Dolphins in the 19'th minute, vollying a ball past Deacons keeper Stephen Alonso to give Le Moyne a 1-0 advantage.  The score would remain in favor of the Deacons' opposition for the next 35 minutes of play, until Evans Tageo fed fellow senior Jason Bryan for the equalizing goal in the 55'th minute.  Coach Falloon's squad nearly took the lead later on in the second half, but a shot by Tageo bounced off the crossbar, narrowly missing the team's second goal.

But Le Moyne was able to capitalize on their next opportunity, when David DiPaola knocked in a free kick from Jesse Carr to give the Dolphins a 2-1 lead with 4:48 remaining.  Just 2:24 later, Angelo Reina provided the dagger with a goal of his own, sealing the win for the  Dolphins and dropping the Deacons' record to 5-8-1 on the season.

The team returns to action on October 22 with a road match against conference rival Caldwell College.  The opening whistle is set for 3:00 PM.
