WILMINGTON, DE: The men's soccer dominated their Monday match against Goldey-Beacom College in every aspect except the one that matters most - the final score.
Coach Falloon's squad fired 18 shots over 90 minutes of play, but none found the back of the net, as the Lightning stunned the Deacons with a 1-0 victory in Wilmington.
The Lightning would only take four shots in the game, but Ezlin Rodezno made one of them count in the 50'th minute, beating Deacons keeper Stephen Alonso to give GBC a 1-0 advantage. They would make it stick over the last 40 minutes of play despite a barrage of scoring chances for Bloomfield, but each proved fruitless as the Deacons fell into sixth place in the CACC standings with the CACC Tournament looming next week.
The team returns to action Tuesdsay, October 27 with a home match against Nyack College. All fans are encouraged to arrive early to the game for our Senior Day ceremony, where we honor the senior Deacons as they play their final home game.
