Ivettlis Castro (Carteret, N.J.) and rookie
Iman Williams (Chesapeake, Va.) each totaled 13 points off the bench to lead the Bloomfield College women's basketball team to their first conference victory of the season Wednesday night, as the Lady Deacons improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in CACC play with a 78-56 home victory over CACC North Division rival Nyack College.
Bloomfield took control of the contest on the defensive end of the floor in the early stages of the evening, stifling the Nyack attack and forcing 20 turnovers over the first 20 minutes of play. The bench tandem of Castro and Williams ignited the Bloomfield offense in reserve, combining for 19 points in 30 minutes of play to help the Lady Deacons mount a double-digit advantage. Castro connected on three of her seven three-point attempts to total nine points in the period, while Williams controlled the frontcourt with 10 points on 4-8 shooting from the field to help the home team mount a 48-27 lead heading into the intermission. It would be more of the same in the second stanza, as the Lady Deacons led wire-to-wire while outscoring the Warriors 31-28 over the final 20 minutes of action to cruise to their first conference victory over the young season.

Nahja Carter (Neptune, N.J.) joined Castro and Williams in double figures with 10 points apiece, while rookie guard
Ariel Wilson (Chesapeake, Va) added eight points, five assists and four steals in a solid all-around effort. Junior forward
Iliriana Lulgjuraj (Bloomfield, N.J.) continued the solid start to her third season with the program by totaling six points, six rebounds and a game-high five steals in the win.
Bloomfield returns to action Saturday, December 1, when they travel to take on CACC South Division foe Chestnut Hill College. Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
