Lady Deacons cruise to 76-49 victory over Wilmington

BOX SCORE

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (February 21, 2013)
: Junior guard Ivettlis Castro (Carteret, N.J.) scored 15 points off the bench to lead the Bloomfield College Lady Deacons to a 76-49 victory over CACC South rival Wilmington University Lady Wildcats in their regular season finale Thursday night, as the program honored the Kay Yow Cancer Fund with its annual "Think Pink" event.  Bloomfield finishes the 2012-2013 regular season with a 12-14 overall record and 9-10 record in CACC play.

The Lady Deacons needed the victory to stay in playoff contention and played as such, never trailing in the contest.  In the first half, Wilmington had the deficit cut to four multiple times, but Bloomfield continued to pour it on offensively, going into intermission with a 36-21 lead.

In the second half, BC kept the hammer down on Wilmington and played with the intensity of a must-win game.  Freshman forward Iman Williams (Chesapeake, VA) had 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench for Bloomfield.  Sophomore center Tierra Scott (Bear, DE) had nine points and nine rebounds and freshman guard Nahja Carter (Neptune, N.J.) had ten points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a solid all-around effort.
