Nyack tops Bloomfield 2-0

BOX SCORE

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team fell to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play Monday night, as they dropped a 2-0 home decision to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Nyack College at Foley Field.

The visiting Warriors notched the first goal of the evening in the 16th minute, as Toni Mutschler (Frankfurt Oder, Germany) finished a cross into the box from Marco Likos (Leipzig, Germany) to put Nyack on top 1-0.  Likos would push Nyack's advantage to 2-0 in the 28th minute, scoring off a deflected shot from Mutschler to put the Warriors up a pair.

Bloomfield totaled eight shots in the match but proved unable to get back into the contest, as the clubs failed to score over the final 45 minutes of play to preserve a two-goal victory for the Warriors and send the Deacons to 1-3 in CACC action on the year.

Marin Jonjic (Podstrana, Croatia) totaled three shots to lead the Bloomfield attack in the loss, while Charles Crichlow (Cano Garden, St. Thomas) totaled two shots in the setback.

Bloomfield returns to action Oct. 3, when they travel to take on CACC rival Concordia College in a midweek road match.  Kickoff time for the contest has yet to be announced.
