PHILADELPHIA, P.A. – The women's volleyball team swept the Devils of USciences Saturday afternoon for their second consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory of the week. With the win, Bloomfield continues to sit atop the CACC North Division with a 16-4 overall record and 10-3 in league action while the Devils dropped to 4-13 on the season and 3-9 in conference play.
Valerie Bermudez (San Juan, P.R.) had an outstanding game posting team-highs in kills (14) and digs (16) to led the Bears on offense and defense. Freshman
Kali Viles (McKinney, T.X.) and senior
Diannmarie Rivera (Trujillo Alto, P.R.) each recorded nine kills while
Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) paced the Bloomfield offense with a season-high 30 assists and added two services aces.
Defensively, Rivera and
Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) each registered three blocks and
Alex Glasper (Hainesport, N.J.) chipped in two blocks of her own.
Bloomfield will face their next opponent in a non-conference road trip to Molloy College on Tuesday Oct. 27. The Lions welcome the Bears for a 6:00 pm showdown in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
