PHILADELPHIA, P.A. – The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team picked up a huge inter-divisional win over the Rams Saturday afternoon on the road. The Bears scored a 5-set victory over the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) south division leader, Philadelphia University and improved to 8-9 overall and 5-2 in league play. The Rams (5-1) suffered their first loss in a CACC contest and dropped to 12-4 overall for the year.
Bloomfield came out on the winning end of the see-saw battle with set scores of, 26-24 (P), 29-27 (B), 25-18 (P), 25-21 (B) and 16-14 (B).
Junior
Paola Noble (Toa Alto, P.R.) had a career day as she registered 18 digs and a team-high, 17 kills for the Bears. Senior
Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) had a huge day at the net with a game-high, 9 blocks to go along with 9 kills while classmates
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif.) and
Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) paced the Bloomfield offense with 17 assists each.
The Bears will savor this victory for a few days before heading back on the road Wednesday to face the Warriors of Nyack College in their next contest. The CACC North Division battle is set to begin at 7:00 pm as Bloomfield looks for their third consecutive league victory.
