NYACK, N.Y. – The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team picked up their third-consecutive victory Wednesday night against Nyack College on the road. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) north division decision improved Bloomfield (9-9) to .500 for the first time in 2016 and 6-2 in league match ups. The Warriors dropped to 5-12 on the year and 3-4 in conference play.
After spotting the home team the first set, Bloomfield came back to win the match by set scores of 25-20 (N), 25-14 (B), 25-16 (B) and 25-16.
Senior
Valerie Bermudez (San Juan, P.R.) had a solid performance as she notched 14 digs, 14 kills and 3 blocks while classmate,
Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) registered 7 blocks to lead the Bears defense at the net.
Paola Noble (Toa Alta, P.R.) continued her stellar play after being named the 'Bear of the Week' as she registered 16 digs, 14 kills and 3 service aces.
The senior tandem of
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif.) and
Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) served up 19 and 14 assists respectively and libero,
Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) added a game-high 25 digs.
Bloomfield will return to the confines of home on Saturday, as they look to push their winning streak to four games when they host Holy Family University. The CACC contest against the Tigers is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start at the Bloomfield Gym.
