BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team recorded a sweep in their first home tri-match of the season Saturday afternoon. The Bears notched their sixth-consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory with a 3-0 win over Goldey-Beacom College in match one. In match 2, Bloomfield battled the Mavericks of Mercy College to a 3-1 non-conference decision and completed the tri-match with a 15-10 overall record.

The Bears registered set scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-19 in the match 1 sweep of the Lightning.

Senior
Valerie Bermudez (San Juan, P.R.) notched 11 kills and 10 digs while
Paola Noble (Toa Alta, P.R.) had a solid performance with 7 kills and 7 digs.
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif.) and
Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) recorded 12 and 10 assists respectively and libero,
Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) led the Bears a game-high, 18 digs. Senior
Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) chipped in a game-high six blocks.

The Bears kept the momentum rolling in their second match of the day as they clawed outset scores of 25-17(B), 25-15(M), 25-17(M) and 25-17(B).
Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) added another five blocks to her day and registered nine kills. Madlock did the brunt of the service work picking up 26 assists. Bermudez racked up 14 digs against Mercy and added 12 kills during the win.

Next on the agenda Bloomfield will square off with crosstown rivals, the Cougars of Caldwell University on Tuesday. The CACC road test has the first serve set to go at 7:00 pm at the Caldwell Gym.
