Nick Davidson (Lumberton, N.J.) score his 1,000
th career point but it was not enough as the Bears fell to the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), 81-86. The regional setback snapped Bloomfield's four-game winning streak and featured a team-high, twenty-one points from
Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, N.J.).

How It Happened
- Davidson finished the night with 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field including a pair of three-pointers in the midst of Bloomfield's 8-2 spurt to begin the game
- The Penmen posted a run of their own, reeling off a, 21-5 clip that downed the visitors, 31-22 with just under eight minutes on the clock. The Bears responded with a 15-5 run but by the halftime break found themselves trailing, 47-42
- Davidson and Abdus-Sabur totaled more than half Bloomfield's points at the break (23) and shot a combined 9-for-16 from the floor
- SNHU led the entire second half and countered every attempt for the Bears to claw their way back in front. Freshman Chiedozie Akawuaku (Newark, N.J.) had a career-high night with 14 points in his first start for the visiting squad and hit a jumper with 8:40 remaining to pull his team to within three (66-63)
- Bloomfield was unable to get any closer down the stretch and eventually had to watch their four-game unbeaten streak come to a conclusion
- Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Defensive Player of the Week, Rakwan Kelly (Newark, N.J.) snagged four steals on the night and added nine points
Up Next: Bloomfield will look to rebound from the non-conference loss with another regional test when the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University enter the Den for a Sunday afternoon match up.
