How It Happened
- The teams were traded baskets across the first five minutes of the game until the Ravens seized an opportunity after an 8-2 run to go up 21-13. Bloomfield immediately countered with their own, 8-2 spurt, capped by a layup from Robert Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.)
- A Williams' long-range shot brought the teams even at 33-33 with 5:22 on the clock. Franklin Pierce just edged out the Bears in the frame, taking a 47-45 advantage into the locker room after a missed shot at the buzzer from Bloomfield
- Kelly and Williams accounted for 23 of the home team's points in the opening half and Nick Davidson (Lumberton, N.J.), fresh off his 1,000 career point in the squad's last outing, chipped in nine points at the break
- The Ravens shot a blistering 50 percent from the field (16-of-32) and seemed confident that they could steal one at the Den with a similar showing in the second half but Bloomfield had another plan
- Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, N.J.) scored 16 points off the bench for the Bears, including 14 in the second half to keep his team in front down the stretch. Fresh off his career-high from a game ago, Chiedozie Akawuaku (Newark, N.J.) added seven points in the second period and finished with ten points to round out Bloomfield's top scorers on the afternoon
Up Next: Bloomfield takes a trip over the holiday break to do battle with the Spartans from Saint Thomas Aquinas College on New Year's Eve at 2:00 pm.
