BLOOMFIELD, N.J. -
Nick Davidson (Lumberton, N.J.) led four Bears in double figures as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division leader handed Georgian Court a 93-65 loss at the Bloomfield College Gym. Davidson netted a game-high 24 points including six buckets from beyond the arc en route to Bloomfield's second consecutive victory.
The Bears improved to .500 (11-11) on the season and 10-5 in league action while the Lions fell to 5-17 on the year and 4-11 in CACC play.
Davidson put up 20 field goals for the second time in his career and knocked down nine of them including a career-high six from beyond the arc. The sophomore also snagged five boards, dished out four assists, swatted a shot and swiped a steal to fill out the stat sheet. Classmate
Juan Brown (Anappolis, M.D.) recorded 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting on the afternoon with all of his baskets coming from deep while senior Cluade Blue (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 FT) and a team-high seven boards. shot

Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, N.J.) came off the bench with ten points and three boards in sixteen minutes of work.
Rakwan Kelly (Newark, N.J.),
Ahmid Williams (Monroe, N.J.) and
Robert Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) each contributed nine points apiece to round out Bloomfield's top point getters.
Georgian Court saw a team-high performance from Juwan Carter who roared for 16 points and six rebounds against the Bears.
Carter got the Lions on the scoreboard with a long-range shot on the visitors' first possession of the game. Brown quickly answered with a three-ball of his own and the battle was on, knotted 3-3 with less than two minutes played. An 8-2 spurt put Georgian Court up 11-5 with 16:24 on the clock, which they then extended to a 7-point margin (21-14) just over five minutes later. Bloomfield had seen enough and mounted a 29-7 explosion to close out the half that included six buckets from beyond the arc – three coming from Williams and two from Davidson – during the stretch. The Bears headed into the locker room up 43-28 and boasted a 12/2 assist to turnover ratio for the opening half.
In the second half the Lions came out determined to make a game of it and clawed out a 14-5 run to climb within six (48-42) with 15:26 on the clock. Bloomfield responded with a 3-pointer on their next three consecutive possessions to spark a 15-0 outpouring and put the game out of reach for the CACC South Division squad. Olatilewa Oyawusi (Bloomfield, N.J.) got into the scorebook with a layup to extend the Bears lead to the largest of the contest (93-60) before the final tally at the buzzer.
Bloomfield edged the Lions in shooting, 45.1 percent (32-71) to 40.7 percent (34-72) but Georgian Court posted a 45.5 percent (10-22) to 42.4 percent (14-33) advantage from long distance. Although the visitors shot a higher percentage from the line (87.5% – 65.2%) the Bears sank more free throws (15) than the visitors attempted (8) during the game. The glass went Bloomfield's way at 46-33 along with a slight edge scoring in the paint, 24-22. The Bears picked up 27 points off of 17 Georgian Court mistakes and committed just seven turnovers for the game.
Next up for the #1 team in the CACC North will be a road trip to Waterbury, Conn. to face Post University Tuesday evening. The Bears seek to avenge this season's home opener loss to the Eagles when the ball is tipped at the Drubner Center at 7:30 pm.
