WILMINGTON, DEL. - The Bloomfield College softball team concluded their 2016 regular season with a sweep over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Goldey-Beacom College Saturday afternoon at Jackson Complex in Delaware by the scores of 7-1 in game one and 7-3 in game two.

The two victories gave the Bears their second consecutive winning regular season as they finished with a 22-21 overall record. Bloomfield posted a 13-13 mark in league games and will enter post-season play for the sixth straight year.

Goldey-Beacom fell to 9-37 overall with the two setbacks and a 3-23 record in CACC play after Saturday afternoon.

In game one Bloomfield cracked the scoreboard in the top of the third after
Paige Lafferty (Liberty Hill, T.X.) singled to start then inning and later scored on an RBI single to right by
Mariah Frazier (Port Angles, W.A.). The Bears extended their advantage to 4-0 in the fourth inning, first with
Jamie Cook (Ekland, P.A.) who scored on a throwing error, then Lafferty lined an RBI single and
Veronica Cobos (Torrance, Calif.) drilled an RBI triple.

Bloomfield tacked on three more in the fifth for a commanding 7-0 lead, as
Stephanie Miller (Temecula, Calif.) scored on a wild pitch and Cook served up a two-run single to left.

Kirsten Wilson (Beaver Falls, P.A.) picked up her 12
th win of the year as she struck out six over seven innings for the Bears and allowed just one run and three hits in facing only three batters above the minimum.

Wilson also collected three hits on the batter's side of the plate with Cook, Lafferty and Frazier getting two apiece for Bloomfield, which ended with eleven hits in game one.

Poised to lock up the #7 seed in the CACC post-season, Bloomfield blew open game two plating four runs with two outs in the fifth inning and took a 6-1 lead.Â
Faith Apolskis (Soquel, Calif.) scored on an error, Cook lined an RBI single,
Annette Daw (Gallup, N.M.) drew a bases-loaded walk and
Aubrey Orr (Gallup, N.M.) came home on an error.

Apolskis had two triples in game two and the Bears amassed four triples on the day. Orr and Lafferty also had two hits with Miller (6-10) yielding three runs and seven hits over seven innings in the circle.

Bloomfield ends its regular season with a .281 team batting average and twenty-six homeruns including six each from Wilson and Frazier to lead the playoff-bound squad.

The Bears will rest up for their opening day CACC tournament game against Dominican College on Thursday at 10:00 am. The tournament site will be Georgian Court University with the seeding and schedule as follows:
