BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Bears captured their 2
nd consecutive victory at home Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep of the Devils from USciences. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) inter-division match up improved Bloomfield to 3-1 in league play and 6-8 overall while the Devils dropped to 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in conference action.
Senior
Valerie Bermudez (San Juan, P.R.) tallied 11 kills, 7 digs and 4 aces while classmate,
Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) chipped in 8 kills and 3 blocks for the Bears. Seniors
Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) and
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif.) shared the distribution duties with 16 and 8 assists respectively.
Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) added a solid, 16-dig performance and junior,
Alex Glasper (Hainesport, N.J.) recorded two blocks for the game.
Bloomfield was efficient with their effort against USciences taking the sweep by set scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-10.
The Bears continue their CACC home stand with a rematch of last year's CACC Championship game when the Eagles of Post University soar into the gym on Tuesday, September 27
th. The highly anticipated 7:00 pm showdown will feature high energy as the reigning champs set foot in the Bloomfield Gym for the first time in 2016.
