How It Happened
- Nick Davidson (Lumberton, N.J.) had a solid day at the office, chipping in 15 points and 6 rebounds while Rakwan Kellly (Newark, N.J.) almost returned to double-double form, falling just shy with a 12 point and 9 board performance
- Bloomfield, a perennial top team in the CACC North Division always expects to get a visiting league team's best shot and the Golden Falcons obliged with a 9-3 push to start the contest. The Bears evened the game at 15-15 but Felician never surrendered the lead and the home team saw themselves fall behind by eleven (32-21) with 5:18 to play in the first half
- Chiedozie Akawauku (Newark, N.J.) helped spark a tremendous 16-2 Bloomfield comeback run that culminated with two Fleming buckets that send the CACC North Division's top squad into the locker room up, 37-34
- Bloomfield came out in the second half determined to prove their supremacy and never surrendered the lead during the entire period. Each push the Golden Falcons made, Fleming would answer with a bucket or Davidson would respond with a basket
- With 3:46 remaining in the game an emphatic dunk from Akawuaku followed by a subsequent technical foul charged to the Bears freshman forward, gave Felician a glimmer of hope as the free throws pulled the visitors to within two (71-69). The Fleming and Davidson tandem quickly extinguished that flame as the duo combined for a 9-1 spurt that put the game out of reach with less than a minute to go
- The Bears dominated in the paint, holding a 44-22 point margin over Felician and converted 15 points off of turnovers
Up Next: Bloomfield begins a four game CACC road swing as they travel to the Newman Center to face the Cougars of Caldwell University Thursday evening. The CACC North Division match up is set to begin at 7:30 with the Bears looking to with their sixth consecutive league game.
