ORANGEBURG, NY – The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team began their Saturday morning with a simple mantra, 'WIN and you're IN' and they delivered with a 3-0 victory against the Chargers from Dominican College. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) sweep ensured the Bears a fourth consecutive trip to post-season play as they secured the North Division's #4 seed
Bloomfield took command from the opening set and clawed out to a 9-2 run before taking Set 1, 25-8. Set 2 also went in the Bears favor easily as
Ella Ditzenberger (Tracy, Calif.) closed out the period with five consecutive service aces for a 25-12 win. The Chargers put up a fight in the third frame with their final game of the season drawing to a conclusion but Bloomfield put the match away with a 25-22 victory in Set 3.
Sophomore
Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) recorded game-highs with 14 digs and 12 kills while Ditzenburger finished the day with 8 kills and 6 service aces. Freshman setter,
Junelly Marrero (Cantano, PR) recorded 27 assists for the Bears in their final regular season match.
Bloomfield will now prep for CACC Championship Volleyball action as first-year head coach, James Pompeo rallies his squad for a Quarterfinal Round battle with #1 South Division seeded, Jefferson University. The CACC Tournament will begin on Tuesday with the Bears traveling to Philadelphia to face the top-ranked Rams at 7:00 pm.
