BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears volleyball team played their final home game of the regular season Wednesday and dropped a 3-0 decision to the visiting Rams of Jefferson University. Jefferson entered the contest as the top team in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division as they pushed their winning streak to 13 with an 18-1 mark in league play. Bloomfield fell to 7-20 overall but with a 6-12 record in conference play, the home team still held on to their playoff hopes.
The Rams (24-6) ran off to a 5-2 lead in the opening set before the Bears roared back to tie the match at 5-5. The teams swapped points through the middle of the set and found themselves deadlocked again at 17-17. Jefferson took Set 1 25-18 after an 8-1 spurt.
Set 2, Bloomfield jumped out the gate with a 3-0 advantage before the visitors settled in and reeled off four straight points. After being tied at 7-7, Jefferson rattled off five points and seized control of the set, eventually taking a 25-20 win and control of the match 2-0. The Rams began Set 3 with a 17-4 run and closed out the match with a 25-13 win.
Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) had a team-high, 14 kills and added 2 service aces while freshman setter,

Kiersten Coho (East Freedom, PA) chipped in a game-high 11 digs.
'Win and you're in' will be the theme of the Bears final match of the regular season when they travel to Dominican College Saturday afternoon. The noon-time match up with their CACC North Division opponents, provides Bloomfield an opportunity to capture their fourth consecutive trip to the postseason and first under newly tenured James Pompei. Ironically, a win over the Chargers would also solidify a rematch with the #1 South Division seeded, Jefferson Rams on Tuesday, November 14th in the quarterfinal round of the CACC Championships.
