WATERBURY, CONN. – The women's volleyball team traveled north to participate in Post Eagles Invitational this weekend and suffered four losses during the two-day tournament. Bloomfield dropped to 1-6 overall on the season as they fell in matches to Northeast-10 opponents, Southern Conn. State University (SCSU) and College of Saint Rose Saturday and then East Coast Conference teams, Molloy and LIU Post on Sunday at the Drubner Center.
 
Southern Conn. State 3, Bloomfield 0
In the first match of the invitational on Saturday, the Bears faced, regional foe, SCSU and fell in straight sets to the Owls. SCSU moved to 5-1 on the season with the victory. Jandra Fabian (Santa Dominigo, DR) continued her solid play for Bloomfield as she registered 14 kills and 11 digs while sophomore Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) chipped in 10 kills and 8 digs. The Bears freshman, Junelly Marrero (Cantano, PR) ran the offense with 25 assists and also contributed 9 digs and a service ace.

Bloomfield 0, Saint Rose 3
Bloomfield faced The College of Saint Rose in their second match on Saturday and loss in straight sets of, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-17. Fabian recorded 12 kills 3 blocks to lead the Bears while Quintinar added 8 kills and a block to the effort. Sophomore Delanie Cruz (Chicago, IL) had a career-best 10 digs during the match as Bloomfield closed out Day 1 of the invitational against two NE-10 schools.
 
Bloomfield 0, Molloy 3
On Day 2, the Bears started off against Molloy and fell in straight sets by the scores of, 25-10, 25-15 and 25-15. Bloomfield had a hard time getting going against the Lions as the ECC opponents notched 12 services aces in the match to the Bears 4. Marrero had 20 assists for the match and Quintinar led with her season's-best, Cruz chipped in another 8 digs and Bloomfield prepared for their final match of the invitational. 
 
Bloomfield 0, LIU Post 3
The Bears wrapped up their invitational play after an evening match against the Pioneers. Quintinar and Fabian recorded 10 and 8 kills respectively while Cruzz and Marrero managed 9 and 8 digs respectively. Linda Thomas (Irvington, NJ) added 6 digs and 2 service aces to the Bloomfield effort.
 
The Bears will return to the gym to prepare for their home opener on Wednesday, September 13^th when the Clippers of Concordia College come to town. The 6pm match up will be Bloomfield's first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) test of the year.
