BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears women's volleyball team successfully picked up their fourth consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory Saturday over the Chestnut Hill College, 3-0. The sweep over the Griffins improved the Bears record to 5-7 overall with a perfect 4-0 mark in league play and a tie for first place in the division.
 
The home team took the first set comfortably at 25-15 but Chestnut Hill (2-12, 1-3 CACC) put up a valiant fight the rest of the way. Set 2, the Griffins narrowed the margin but eventually fell, 25-23 and in Set 3, the visitors jumped out to a 8-1 advantage before Bloomfield closed out the sweep with a 25-23 victory.
 
The Bears sophomore Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) had a solid day at the office as she registered 11 kills, 10 digs, 2 service aces and a block. Jandra Fabian (Santa Dominigo, DR) nothched 10 kills and 2 blocks for the afternoon while junior transfer, Linda Thomas (Irvington, NJ) recorded a team-high, 11 digs. The Bears freshman, Junelly Marrero (Cantano, PR) paced the offense with 26 assists during the win.
 
This Wednesday, Sept. 27^th the Bears will travel to Post University for their next CACC North Division battle. The match is scheduled to start at 7pm in The Drubner Center.
