PHILADELPHIA, PA– The Bloomfield College men's cross country team finish 2nd at the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship hosted by Thomas Jefferson University on Sunday at the Belmont Plateau. The Bears men's team combined for a score of 72 points with an average time of 28:35. Wilmington University won the 2018 CACC Championship on the men's side with an average time of 28:05 on the 8k course.
 
The Bears women's team placed 8th overall with a combined score of
194 and an average time of 23:04. The CACC Championships started with the women's 5K race at 9AM followed by the men's race at 10AM. Shaniqua Kirkpatrick (St. Albans, NY) was the top performer for Bloomfield, placing 8th overall clocking a time of 20:55.4 for the 5k race earning First Team All-Conference honors. 
 
In the Men's race, the Bears were led by Junior Giovani Arcena (Pleasantville, NJ) when he crossed the finish line in a time of 28:20.5 in 9^thplace and captain Marc Lugo (Rochelle Park, NJ) finished right behind with a time of 28:2, and 10th place earning both, First Team All-Conference honors. Rookie Nicholas Rivera (Camden, NJ) finished just shy of earning First Team All-Conference when he cross the line 16^th, clocking in with a time of 28:36.7, Isaiah Curbelo (Mount Holly, NJ) was the next Bear to cross the line when he clocked in with a time of 28:46.7 and Paul Keyes (Manahawkin, NJ) followed right behind him, clocking in with a time of 28:49.4 both finishing 18th and 19th place overall respectively. Captain Maurisio Nazario (Passaic, NJ) was the 6^thmen to finish the race for the bears when he clocked in with a time of 29:39.1 placing 33rd and Robert Howell rounded out the Bloomfield College team performance when he clocked in with a time of 33:15.1 placing 67th overall.
 
On the women's side, Vanessa Felice (North Bergen, NJ) finished 2nd for the Bears when she finished with a time of 22:11.4, placing 30th overall. Olivia Randolph (Teaneck, NJ) followed closely clocking in a time of 22:28.9 and 34th overall. Dana Seamon (Moorestown, NJ) clocked in with a time of 24:52.1 placing 60th place
overall and Felicia Haidara (Bowie, MD) followed closely behind when she clocked in with a time of 24:52.7 placing 62nd overall. Monica Dunkerson (Willingboro, NJ) was the next finisher for the Bears with a time of 27:25.7 placing 72nd overall. Naeemah Martin- Cain (Willingboro, NJ) rounded up the Bears performance when she clocked in with a time of 38:44.1 placing 84^thoverall.
 
Bloomfield Cross Country team will head to the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship on Saturday, November 17. The Bears will head to Bethpage State Park, Polo Field in Bethpage, New York, to take on the best amongst the Div II East Region.
