BLOOMFIELD, NJ– Women's volleyball continued their winning ways with a, 3-2 come-from behind victory Saturday afternoon against Goldey-Beacom College at The Den. The visiting Lightning (3-15, 1-8 CACC) jumped in front, 2-1 after Set 2 and Set 3 wins of 26-24 and 25-21 respectively but the Bears (2-17, 2-6 CACC) struck back over the final two frames to secure their second consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) decision on 'Parents' Weekend".
Sophomore
Ashley Stroot (Rolesville, NC) stepped up with a season-high, 18 kills and added 4 blocks for the home squad while
Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) poured in a balanced 23 digs and 15 kills. Libero,
Junelly Marrero (Cantano, Puerto Rico) led the defense recording 31 digs and Julliette Tygret (Gilbert, AZ) peppered the score sheet with 15 digs, 10 kills, 2 assists and season-high, 8 service aces.
Laityn Sarna (Las Vegas, NV) continued to pace the Bears offense with 45 assists.
After a rough start to 2018, back-to-back wins have Bloomfield refocused on their CACC goals as they travel to Concordia College on Wednesday. The 6:00 pm showdown in Bronxville, NY will be the Bears first look at the Clippers this season.
