BEARS 2-0 AFTER CLIPPING CONCORDIA, 94-79 IN 'THE DEN' HOME OPENER

BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bears played their home opener Saturday afternoon in The Den and roared to a 94-79 win over Concordia College. Sophomore forward, Abdallah Elsaleh (North Bergen, NJ) led the Bloomfield scoring attack with a career-high, 21 points as the home team moved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference(CACC) play. The Clippers saw their first action of the year, falling to 0-1 overall and in conference matches.
 
Elsaleh was red hot for the contest, scorching the twine on 8-of-11 shots and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Freshman standout, Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck, NJ) showed his appreciation for home court advantage by dropping his first collegiate double-double, going for 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore, Tony Godwin (North Plainfield, NJ) turned in a career-day as well, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor for 17 points and senior forward, Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) went 4-of-7 from three-point territory to help the Bears cause with 14 points. Classmate point guard, Tariq McKenith (Newark, NJ) chipped in 10 points, 4 assists and 4 steals.

Bloomfield returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, February 2ndfor a fill in game against non-conference regional foe, Saint Thomas Aquinas College. The Spartans welcome the Bears for a 7:00 pm tip in Sparkill, NY.
