CALDWELL, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's basketball team hopped on a bus and took a socially-distant ride up the road to Caldwell University to take on the Cougars in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle on Thursday. The Bears suffered a, 81-71 setback on Mark A.Corino Court and fell to 2-1 on the year with a 2-1 mark in league play. Caldwell evened their record at 1-1 for the season and 1-1 in conference play.

Sophomore guard, Isaiah Sparks (Ewing, NJ) provided sparks for the visitors going 10-of-16 from the field for a career and game-high 22 points. He also snagged a team-high 8 rebounds and chipped in 3 steals and 3 assists for the contest. Freshman Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck, NJ) added in 11 points on the evening as Bloomfield struggled shooting from the floor going just 28-of-73 (38.4 percent) which included 26.5 percent (9-of-34) from beyond the arc.

The Bears will have a chance at instant redemption when they host Caldwell on Saturday, Feb. 6th. Bloomfield will welcome the Cougars to The Den for a 12:00pm tip-off as the teams move up their scheduled February 18th meeting because of the uncertainty of these pandemic times and availability for both schools to play an earlier date.
