BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bears geared up for a rematch against Caldwell University on Saturday afternoon but suffered a, 73-52 setback. The Cougars handed Bloomfield their second consecutive double-digit loss after the two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) teams had battled on Thursday evening. The Bears fell to .500 on the season with a 2-2 record overall and in league play while Caldwell improved to 2-1 both in conference games and on the season.

For the second straight game, sophomore Isaiah Sparks (Ewing, NJ) led Bloomfield in scoring as the guard netted 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. The home team's offense struggled on the afternoon with Sparks being the only double-figure scorer and the Bears going 0-for-11 from three-point range in the 1st half. Bloomfield finished the day shooting 34.4 percent (22-for-64) from the floor including a dismal 9.1 percent (2-of-22) from beyond the arc and were out-rebounded by the Cougars 50-35.

The Bears will have a couple of days rest before heading back out on the court on Tuesday, Feb. 9th to take on the regionally ranked Spartans from St. Thomas Aquinas College. The rare 2021 non-conference match is slated for a 7:00 pm start in Sparkill, NY.
