BLOOMFIELD, NJ - (November 16, 2021) Bloomfield College advanced in postseason play for the first time since 2016 after a, 3-1 triumph over Georgian Court University, Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Championship.
The Bears -- the North's No. 1 seed -- took down the Lions (S#4), who had appeared in each of the last two CACC Volleyball Championship Finals. Bloomfield advances to Saturday's semifinals where they will face South No. 2 seeded Wilmington University, which knocked off North #3 Post University, 3-0, earlier in the night. The other side of the bracket saw a pair of schools from Philadelphia post 3-0 triumphs. South No. 1 Holy Family University defeated Dominican College (N#4), and South No. 3 Thomas Jefferson University went on the road to take down North No. 2 Felician University. HFU and Jefferson will face off in Saturday's first semifinal at 1 p.m., while BC and WilmU will square off at 3:30 p.m. Bloomfield remains the lone team from the North Division to move forward in the 2021 Tournament.
Saturday's two semifinal winners will advance to the CACC Championship Final on Sunday at 12 p.m. Championship Weekend for CACC Volleyball will take place at The Wellness Center on the campus of Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J. The winner of the CACC Championship will not only hoist the trophy and banner, but will also lock up the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament at a site to be determined during the first weekend of December.

Jaizahir Marrero notched a match-high 22 kills and Karla Burgos followed with 15 to lead the Bears to a thrilling win in four sets. BC won the opening set, 25-19, but saw GCU even things up with a 25-22 triumph in set two. Bloomfield didn't fold and posted a 25-20 win in set three, and then had to go extra points in set four to close it out with a 29-27 victory. Lauryn Hansford had 51 assists and Sophia Wintonick notched 15 digs. Grace Fenn had nine kills for GCU in the setback.
S#2 WILMINGTON 3, N#3 POST 0 | Boxscore
Mandy Behiels had a double-double of 11 kills and 11 digs to help lead Wilmington to the three-set sweep of the Eagles. Heather Pedrick notched a double-double as well with 15 assists and 14 digs. The Wildcats won comfortably in sets one and two (25-14 & 25-11), but had to scratch out a hard-fought 25-22 win in set three. Lydimar Soto posted a team-high nine kills for Post.
S#1 HOLY FAMILY 3, N#4 DOMINICAN 0 | Boxscore
The defending champs won by scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-19. Allyssa Hartney hit at a .351 clip and had 15 kills. Newly-minted CACC Player of the Year, Morgan Silks, had 37 assists to help pace HFU to a .297 hitting mark as a team. Lily Ainsworth had 21 assists for Dominican in the setback.
S#3 JEFFERSON 3, N#2 FELICIAN 0 | Boxscore
Morgan Ritchie and Jess Molen had 14 and 11 kills, respectively, while Kristine Guenther logged 38 assists to lead Jefferson to a satisfying road win over the Golden Falcons. The Rams won by scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-16. Cameron Johnson totaled 21 digs for the Rams in the victory. Hannah Chiswick had nine kills for Felician in the setback.
