BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bears women's basketball team pushed their overall record to 2-5 Saturday afternoon with a, 68-65 victory over Mercy College. The regional match up in The Den saw Bloomfield lead for the majority of the contest as the Mavericks fell to 2-4 with the non-conference setback.
Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) led the way with a game-high, 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor which included, 3-of-7 from long-range.
Siani Smith (Burlington, NJ) came off the bench to add 13 points while Dashanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) snagged 11 boards to go-along with 8 points to help the Bears to the afternoon win.
On Tuesday, Dec 7, Bloomfield returns to conference play with a contest against Post University. The Eagles soar into the Den for a 5:30 pm tip-off.
