Gerald Holmes' historic 20-year career as they dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games. The Eagles evened their overall mark to 4-4 on the season and 1-0 in league play.
The visitors used a solid first half to go up, 40-33 by intermission but Bloomfield came roaring back to start the 2nd half ignited by junior transfer,
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) who netted seven points within the first two minutes to put the home team up, 42-40 after a, 9-0 run. Post regained their composure and answered with a, 7-0 spurt of their own. The CACC North Division teams were tied at, 47-47 at the 14:36 minute-mark before the Bears went on a scoring drought across the next nine minutes and the Eagles exploded with fourteen unanswered points (61-47). The home team came within four (69-65) with fifteen seconds remaining but a couple of Post freethrows capped the night's scoring.
Morris finished the game in double-digits, tallying 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting from the floor which included 2-of-3 from long range.
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) was the game-high scorer with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting that included a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the freethrow line. As a team, the Bears shot 38.5 percent from the field (25-for-65) and were out-rebounded 53-38 by the Eagles.
Next on the schedule for Bloomfield, they will travel to Saint Anselm College on Saturday for a regional match-up. Tip-off in New Hampshire against the Hawks is set for 1:00 pm.
