LAKEWOOD, NJ – The Bloomfield College women's basketball team saw their first action of 2022, taking a road trip to Georgian Court University Saturday afternoon. The Bears suffered a, 74-56 loss against the Lions and dropped their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record to, 0-3 and moved to, 2-9 overall.
Myasia Jackson (Trenton, NJ) registered a team-high, 16 points for Bloomfield to go along with 6 rebounds.
DaShanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) added a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in just 19 minutes of work. Jayluh Bennett (Newark, NJ) rounded out Bloomfield's top scorers with 10 points, going 3-for-7 from the field.
Jackson led the Bears with 11 points at the halftime break as her team trailed, 32-26 but Georgian Court used a 20-11 third quarter to put the CACC contest out of reach and improve to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in league play.
Bloomfield will look to regroup on Tuesday as another conference road game looms. The Warriors of Nyack College host the Bears in Jersey City for a scheduled 6:00 pm tip-off.
