WILMINGTON, DEL – Bloomfield College hit the road to for their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division test of the year and took a hard-fought, 3-1 decision over Goldey-Beacom College. The Saturday afternoon victory marked the Bears 7
th consecutive and pushed their perfect league record to 6-0 and 7-4 overall.
The Lightning (0-17, 0-6 CACC) struck first and picked up a 25-19 win in the opening set but the visitors came roaring back and returned the favor in set 2 by the same score of 25-19. Bloomfield closed out the match with Set 3 and Set 4 scores of 25-11 and 25-20 respectively and were paced by Kalme Moncalvo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) who registered 13 kills and
Desiree Cruz (Humacau, PR) who added 11 kills for the match.
Lauryn Hansford (Plainfield, NJ) had a season-high 29 assists and
Karla Maldonado (Morovis, PR) continued her solid play, chipping in 10 digs for the Bears and.
Bloomfield will look to continue their red-hot winning streak when they square off with Alliance University (formely Nyack College) next week Tuesday. The Oct 4
th match-up was rescheduled from September 23 and is set for a 7:00 pm first serve in Jersey City.
