WEST HAVEN, CONN – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team recorded their best shooting percentage in the 2
ndhalf of any game this season (52.9 percent) but it was not enough as they fell, 74-66 to The University of New Haven. The Thursday evening road contest dropped the Bears to 4-4 on the season while the Chargers improved to 6-2 and remained undefeated at home.
Starting guard,
Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) went 8-of-12 from the field, which included 3-for-6 from three-point range, for a team-high 19 points. Fellow starter,
Josh Morris chipped in 16 points and snagged a team-high 9 boards on the road.
Wesley Robinson (Burlington, NJ) and
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) registered 13 and 10 points respectively to round out Bloomfield's top scorers in the game. The Bears fell behind 33-24 at the half which ultimately decided the game as the visitors got hot (18-for-34 from the field) and posted a 42-41 advantage on the scoreboard in the 2
nd half.
Bloomfield returns to the friendly confines of The Den for their next match on Saturday, December 10 against Saint Michael's College. The non-conference battle has a 2:00 pm scheduled tip-off.
