LAKELAND, FLA. - The Bears volleyball team closed out Day 2 at the Florida Southern College (FCS) Volleyball Classic with setbacks against Lander University and the tournament hosts to fall to 0-4 after opening weekend. Bloomfield dropped the first match of the day, 3-1 and where swept by the Mocs, 3-0 to conclude the day.
Karla Maldonado (Morovis, PR) and Sophia Wintonik (Colonia, NJ) had 12 and 11 digs respectively against Lander while
Lily Ann Jackson (Apopka, Fla.) and
Lauryn Hansford (Plainfield, NJ) paced the offense with 15 and 13 assists. Maldanado and Jackson also led the Bears against Florida Southern in digs and assists respectively.
Bloomfield will return home for their next contest on Saturday, September 3 when the Pacesetters enter the Den for a 12:00 pm non-conference showdown.
