BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears volleyball team had their home fans on the edge of their seats Wednesday evening during a five-set victory over Post University. The dazzling Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win marked Bloomfield's fifth-straight and moved their overall record past .500 for the first time this year at 5-4 and perfect 4-0 mark in league matches. The Eagles dropped to 4-9 for the season and 2-3 in conference play.
The home team dropped the first set, 25-19 but came roaring back with a 25-16 2
nd set win and a see-saw 3
rd set win at 26-24. The atmosphere was electric inside of the Bears Den as the Eagles soared to a 25-22 win in the fourth set to even the match. Feeding off the energy of the home crown, Bloomfield battled in the fifth and deciding set and a service ace from CACC Defensive Player of the Week,
Karla Maldonado (Morovis, PR) sealed the win and propelled her team to the top of the conference's North Division.
Next on the Bears radar will be newly renamed, Alliance University (Nyack College) who will roll out the welcome mat on Friday, September 23 for a 7:00 pm first serve.
